Dan Eckstein was born and raised in Northampton, Massachusetts. He received a BA in Fine Arts from Skidmore College in 2001 and relocated to New York City. After several jobs in the photography industry, including an inspiring year assisting Magnum photographers Steve McCurry and Bruno Barbey, he set out on his own in 2006. His work has since been published and exhibited in the United States and abroad.

Dan currently lives in Brooklyn, where he is a freelance photographer. He is also the art and photography editor for Guernica Magazine and is one half of StudioBooth.
