Emma James (formerly Emma Brode) was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. In 2003 she moved to New York and received her BFA in fashion design from Parsons the New School for Design. During her years in New York she was a designer for several retail companies.

Emma now resides in Austin, Texas with her husband, Chris, and her French Bulldog, Colby. Her current projects include designing custom wedding invitations and creating fashion illustrations and graphics for the fashion industry.
