Nicholas Evans is an artist, designer and founder of Evans Deventer.  Beginning his career as a fashion designer for Ruehl (by Abercrombie and Fitch), he continued to broaden his skills, moving into the world of fashion advertising. While at Laird + Partners, Evans developed branding and conceptualized campaigns for Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, Juicy Couture, Karl Lagerfeld, Belstaff, CFDA, and Rag & Bone, among others.

Evans launched his own brand, Evans Deventer, a multifaceted studio, gallery, and showroom in 2015. The brand is built on chapters rather than fashion-oriented seasons. Vignettes are abstractly communicated through reconstructed objects and original artwork. Evans’ first chapter, After the Humbling, pushes the viewer to seek new meaning in objects and ideas that have collapsed or decayed over time.

Painting is a cornerstone of Evans' artistic expression. His works tend to be enigmatic and cerebral. Threads of poetry and religious erosion convey the fragmented logic, suffering, lost love and redemption that push Evans to create. His influences include Romanesque, Gothic and Neo-Expressionist art.

In 2016, Evans designed the interior and exterior of the 13,000 square-foot building his store resides in, which includes residential and commercial retail spaces. He currently lives and works between New York City and Columbus.
